Why do I need more than 16 ounces of salt for my 16 ounce jar?
A 16oz jar is measured in fluid ounces. One (1) ounce of fluid weight is equal to approximately 1.125 ounces of salt weight. This is an average conversion as salts differ in size and weight, but for the most part this calculation should be reasonably accurate.
